Your first flight, step by step.

1. Check your PC

   Check the official PC requirements, including the mandatory SSD, while remembering that meeting the minimum does not guarantee smooth performance.

2. Choose between trying and buying

   Try a confirmed Free Fly or choose a package including “Star Citizen Digital Download”, as a standalone ship, upgrade or Squadron 42 does not provide this access.

3. Create your account on RSI

   Create your account on RSI with my optional referral code STAR-QLRM-NKVH, which can give you access to CIG’s bonus and earn me rewards under the programme terms.

   Do not share your password, here or anywhere else.

4. Install the official launcher

   Download the official launcher from RSI, then install the game on your SSD with room for updates.

5. Learn the basics at your own pace

   Follow the current version’s tutorial to learn takeoff, landing and a first mission without spending all your credits on equipment.

6. Find a guide or crew

   Find a guide through the official Welcome Hub to try activities and ships with other players without buying a fleet.

One ship is enough to get started.

Use your profile to choose an activity, then try specialist ships with other players or through documented in-game buying and rental options.
