Check official RSI announcementsHow does a Free Fly work?
During a Free Fly, CIG temporarily opens game access under the dates, ships and activation rules in its official announcement, which also explains the required account and downloads.
What to prepare
- Check your hardware and free SSD space before downloading.
- Allow time for downloading and learning the controls.
- Performance on a busy server can vary and does not reflect every playing condition.
- After the trial, continue only if the experience suits you and you have valid game access.
When do Free Fly events usually happen?
Free Fly events commonly take place in May, around events such as Invictus Launch Week, and in November, during the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo (IAE).
These are recurring patterns rather than a guarantee for each edition; check the official announcement before planning your trial, as dates and access conditions can change.
Examples from past editions: Invictus 2025 and IAE 2024. Sources checked on 25 October 2026.
